YEAR 10 ~ 11

English Language & Literature, Maths, Science

English

Our GCSE preparation courses in English cover both Language and Literature.

It is important to find out what exam boards the students are on as our teachers cater to them accordingly. We would advise you to try to group common topics together and discuss with the teacher with regards to mixing exam boards.

*GCSE skills: Literacy and Language combined. Any work for specific controlled assessments cannot be covered in a group unless all student currently require it.

Maths

Our KS4 Maths courses help students to become fluent in the fundamentals of mathematics. Through varied and frequent practices with increasingly complex problems over time, students can understand conceptual topics, be able to recall and apply their knowledge rapidly and accurately and master the subject.

Throughout the course, students will learn solve problem by applying their mathematical solutions to a variety of routine and non-routine problems with increasing sophistication, including breaking down problems into a series of simpler steps and persevering in seeking the best solutions.

Science

At this stage with the OxBridge Centre, students are directed to focus on preparing for their rapidly approaching GCSEs, including exam technique. Students will also be learning new concepts and subsequently be tested on their knowledge in class work, group work and homework. The lessons are created to encourage students to be fully engaged and interested in Science.

  • • Science GCSEs – usually Triple (most common is AQA)
  • • Exams are separate (Biology/Physics/Chemistry) but our lessons are 1 hour per subject – rotating the three topics)
