COVID-19 UPDATE

Dear Parents,

Following the government’s advice to practice social distancing, from Monday 23rd March, we will be moving all of our lessons online, as explained in our email last week. Although schools remain open, for the health and safety of our customers and staff, we want to help in the efforts to limit non-essential contact.

We realise this is a difficult time for all, and hope that we can continue to provide you with the best quality teaching that we take pride in. There are two ways that you can continue to benefit from OxBridge tuition:

(1)       Regular Lessons

We will live stream all regular lessons online using the platform ‘BigBlueButton’. https://bigbluebutton.org/html5/

Your usual teacher will be teaching the same materials via video and virtual interactive methods. We will remotely provide their lesson live through our secure, password-access platform. OxBridge Centre will continue to provide the relevant resources online. Our personal service will allow voice and video communication, enabling students to be able to ask questions throughout the class and the teacher to monitor the pupils’ work closely, as well as shared note taking and make individual comments.

(2)       Extra Lessons and ‘Events’

(i) 11 Plus

Our existing online lecture platform aplus11plus.co.uk is aimed at Y5 students, but accessible for Y4 and Y6 students. We offer recorded lessons with quizzes that can be accessed 24 hours a day. We will be offering a discount for customers who seek to join at this time. Please email us at 11plus@oxbridgeuk.com for more information.

For parents concerned about our scheduled events here are the details as follows:

(ii) Easter Courses

We will still be offering these special classes through live streaming interactive lessons. (13-17th April 2020)

(iii) Mock Tests

We may carry out the same tests as an online standardised test that will start and end at the same time for everyone. You will be asked to monitor the pupil under exam conditions. The test will be submitted electronically and marked, with the results available shortly after.

(iv) Summer Intensive Course

Although the future is uncertain, we are planning ahead to offer this sold out course through live streaming interactive lessons should schools be closed at this time.

Please contact us if you would like more detailed information regarding any of these events at admin@oxbridgeuk.com.

We understand that this may be a disruptive change at first, but we believe that continued adapted provision will help to keep your child engaged and learning through this uncertain period.

We will automatically transfer your enrolment to our online live lessons unless you instruct us otherwise. Please reply to this email to let us know by 20.03.20. As things are uncertain, we cannot guarantee your place back once live lessons are back to normal. If we do not hear back from you, we will presume you wish to continue to the move online and we will follow up with an instruction manual on how to use the new platform.

Thank you for your understanding and loyal custom. Please do not hesitate to contact us should you have any questions or concerns.

Warmest regards,

OxBridge Centre Team
