11+ February Half Term Course (Year 4)
16th – 20th February 2026
The February Half-Term Course is the perfect early starting point for Year 4 students beginning their 11+ journey. Positioned midway through the spring term, it helps students establish strong foundations before the pace of preparation accelerates later in the year.
This introductory programme focuses on core skills, fundamental techniques, and key curriculum areas that repeatedly surface in 11+ examinations. Lessons are structured to strengthen essential literacy and numeracy skills, introduce students to the style of 11+ tasks, and build steady confidence without overwhelming them.
By joining our February Half-Term Course, your child gains a valuable head start at a stage when early intervention makes a noticeable difference to long-term progress.
We look forward to welcoming you and supporting your child as they take their first confident steps into the 11+ pathway.

Subjects
English
Our Year 4 English Course helps children become stronger readers and more confident writers. Through enjoyable text exploration, tutors show students how authors use words to create meaning, and children learn to use these techniques in their own writing. They build a wider vocabulary, write clearer sentences, and improve accuracy in spelling and punctuation. By the end of the course, students read with a deeper understanding, express their ideas more clearly, and feel more confident tackling English tasks.
Maths
Our Year 4 Maths Course strengthens children’s understanding of key topics and boosts their confidence with the trickier areas that often cause difficulty in the 11+ exams. Tutors break down challenging ideas and guide students through carefully chosen worded problems, helping them understand what a question is really asking and how to tackle it step by step. Children learn to work accurately, explain their thinking clearly, and apply their knowledge to new situations — skills that make a real difference as they move towards more advanced 11+ preparation.
Homework and Marking
Face-to-face course
Students will be given a homework booklet or revision task each day for each subject. Homework consists of 3 pages of tasks reflecting the topics covered during the day’s lesson. Students must submit their homework at the start of the following day. These booklets will be marked and returned to you with the tutor’s comments, providing feedback on students’ progress and highlighting their strengths and areas for improvement.
In case you’d like to review any of the work with your child after the course itself, mark schemes will be made available to view on the online portal until the end of the year, in December.

Testimonials
My daughter attended on-line lessons from year 4 to 5 and it helped her to develop both her grammar and vocabulary knowledge. This massively helped her to prepare for the 11+ exam and successfully got the place. Their materials are top marks, well structured and illustrated. Thank you so much Oxbridge Centre!
Emily Guess
My daughter had lessons in Oxbridge Sutton Centre before entering Sutton High. Her English and Math improved a lot and it ended up with the happy entry to the school we wanted. Certainly, we recommend this institute and good luck to your kids.
Chi Park
Teachers are very friendly and encouraging. My daughter had developed confidence with her math and English. We never expected her to achieve great success in +11 Plus but with the help of Oxbridge tutors she manage to get in Tiffin Girls school. Thank you so much.
Joanne Lee
My daughter attended Oxbridge Sutton for approximately two years, starting from Year 5 and currently in Year 7. The teachers at Oxbridge are very dedicated, and the exercises provided have been extremely beneficial for her. I highly recommend Oxbridge to anyone who wishes to help their child improve significantly.
