Subjects

Literacy

This Easter Literacy Course deepens students’ mastery of spelling, grammar and punctuation at a stage when accuracy and precision make a significant difference to exam scores. Children work through a wide range of essential and advanced Literacy skills, learning exactly how and why certain rules and structures are used. With targeted practice, error-correction work and a timed Literacy test, students leave the course writing more clearly, more accurately and with the confidence needed for high-scoring 11+ responses.

Reading Comprehension and Essay Writing

Our Easter Essay Writing Course pushes students beyond the basics and prepares them for the demands of 11+ exam writing. With exams approaching, children study high-quality texts, refine their approach to tougher comprehension questions, and learn how to plan and craft stories that are structured, vivid and engaging. They practise using expressive language and varied sentences, and each lesson builds towards a timed practice task, helping them write with greater control, confidence and exam-ready focus.

Maths

Our Easter Maths Course is designed to strengthen core knowledge while pushing students into the more demanding problem-solving expected in the 11+ exams. With the exam season drawing closer, children tackle complex questions across key topics and learn to apply their understanding flexibly under time pressure. Tutors guide them in choosing efficient methods and explaining their reasoning clearly, and the course culminates in a timed practice paper to reinforce strong exam technique.

VR & NVR

This intensive Easter VR & NVR Course sharpens the advanced reasoning skills that are critical in the final stages of 11+ preparation. Students work through a wide range of challenging question types, learning to spot patterns quickly, manipulate shapes confidently and approach tricky puzzles with clear strategies. They also continue strengthening vocabulary for verbal reasoning success. With extended timed practice and a full reasoning paper built into the course, students develop the speed, accuracy and confidence needed for high performance in the real exam.

Homework and Marking

Face-to-face course

Students will be given a homework booklet or revision task each day for each subject. Homework consists of 3 pages of tasks reflecting the topics covered during the day’s lesson. Students must submit their homework at the start of the following day. These booklets will be marked and returned to you with the tutor’s comments, providing feedback on students’ progress and highlighting their strengths and areas for improvement.

In case you’d like to review any of the work with your child after the course itself, mark schemes will be made available to view on the online portal until the end of the year, in December.
